Good Shepherd Brings Back Coffee and Donuts After Mass

By moving Sunday’s Religious Education classes to the Parish Center, we are now able to use our Parish Hall for more parish activities. One such activity we’ve recently brought back is coffee and donuts every Sunday after the 8:00 and 10:00 Masses. Each week is sponsored by representatives from our different ministries, who will serve on a rotating schedule.

Coffee and donuts provides a great opportunity for parishioners to socialize and forge friendships. Parents can spend time with other parents while their children are in Religious Education. Parishioners can hear from representatives of different ministries about the latest events and programs. And everyone gets the opportunity to enjoy our newly renovated Parish Hall.

 Please join us.

Thanksgiving and Christmas Gift Card Appeal

Our annual appeal for Thanksgiving and Christmas food gift cards is here. As we have done in the past, we will have only one appeal for both holidays. We are asking parishioners to purchase gift cards at either Hannaford’s or Shaw’s.

Numbered envelopes are available on the steps leading into the sanctuary at all masses this weekend. Each will request a $25 gift card. When you take an envelope, please write your name and phone number next to the envelope number on the sheets provided.

Envelopes and gift cards must be returned to the baskets in the front of the church on or before the weekends of Nov. 10/11 and 17/18.

Your wonderful generosity has provided many holiday meals for the less fortunate over the years. Thank you for reaching out in love and service to the Lord and each other.

Give Us A Sign!

It’s been a long time in the making, but we are proud to unveil a new sign in front of Good Shepherd. This sign is just one of the many exciting changes happening at our parish and speaks to our growth and direction.  A lot of thought went into the design and placement of this sign, with the Parish Council playing a major role in the decision making.

The following are some of the factors taken into account:

  •  The sign had to be two sided and elevated to allow for better visibility from both directions of the street.
  • It had to say Good Shepherd Roman Catholic Church, indicating to those in the community that we are a Catholic church.
  • We wanted it to be hand crafted and wooden to go along with the quaint look of our parish.
  • It had to have the Mass and confession times, so those passing by would know what times we were open for worship.
  • Mass and confession times had to be on separate pieces, enabling us to change only part of the sign should those times ever change.

Whether posing for wedding or First Communion photos or simply passing by it on your way to Mass, we hope you enjoy the beauty of our new sign as it welcomes you to Good Shepherd.
