Sunday’s Religious Education Cancelled

Religious Education will be cancelled for Sunday, February 25th on account of snow. Classes will still take place Monday evening and the Youth Center will be open Monday from 5 – 8:30.

Did You Know Good Shepherd Offers an Electronic Giving Option?

By signing up for electronic giving, we will automatically deduct your weekly offering each week from your checking account. The electronic giving option not only provides a convenient means of submitting your offering, but it also helps the parish maintain a consistent revenue stream. Our parish needs to average approximately $5,504 per week to cover expenses, which include staff salaries, utilities, loan payments, and general upkeep of the church and parish center. While some of this income is generated through fundraising, we rely heavily on weekly collections for the majority of it.

Many weeks we get close to reaching this mark. But when snowstorms strike, vacation season begins, or long weekends occur, a drop in attendance can have a major effect on meeting our expenses.  Electronic giving lessens this impact by keeping your offerings consistent.

Here are a few good reasons to enroll:

1.       No more scrambling before Mass to find just the right amount of cash, especially when ATMs only give you 20s.

2.       If you miss Mass there is no pressure to double your offering the following week, and no risk of already having spent it on a new pair of shoes.

3.       Only your weekly stewardship is deducted. You can still donate whatever you choose for other collections.

4.       You still receive your envelopes, so whether you add a few dollars to your weekly offering, turn in a special collection envelope, or simply include a friendly note instead of cash, you can still get that warm and fuzzy feeling when you drop your envelope in the basket.

5.       You can change your offering at any time—no worries.

If interested in enrolling or if you have any further questions, please contact the rectory at 508-234-7726 or by email at gshepherd7726@charter.net.

05/25-05/26: New Day and Food Pantry Weekend

Next weekend is our Food Pantry Weekend. This month our donations will go to the Northbridge Association of Churches Food Pantry in Whitinsville. Please leave your donations on the stairs near the drums and not in the hallway or in the main entryway where they may be overlooked. Also, please make sure that none of the food items have expired! Thank you.

Next weekend is also our New Day Outreach Weekend. Monies received in the Good Shepherd Church replica on the last weekend of each month are used to help individuals and families from our parish, and also to support various community causes. Your generosity each month enables us to continue to help those in need.
