Parish Celebrates Good Shepherd Sunday

Each year on the fourth Sunday of Easter the Catholic Church celebrates Good Shepherd Sunday in honor of Jesus Christ laying down his life for his sheep. For Good Shepherd Parish, this is our feast day. And so on April 20th and 21st parishioners congregated in the Parish Hall after each of the masses to enjoy food, refreshments, and camaraderie.

As our Good Shepherd, Jesus called his disciples to join in his ministry, and to minister to others. On Good Shepherd Sunday, dozens of parishioners answered the call as part of our Ministry Fair. With over 20 parish ministries represented, parishioners got the opportunity to speak to members of the various ministries and to sign up to join their teams. Ministries covered such areas as liturgical, music, youth, social justice and charity, faith formation, community building, and pastoral leadership. This year, we even welcomed a new Gardening Ministry, which will help beautify our church grounds by maintaining its flower beds. The Ministry Fair was a win-win for everyone involved, as ministries increased their memberships and parishioners embraced new opportunities for parish involvement.

Special thanks to all of the ministry members involved, the volunteers who helped plan and carry out Good Shepherd Sunday, and to Roger Poulin, who chaired the event.

Join Us for Good Shepherd Sunday

Coming this Easter Season

The Celebration of Good Shepherd Sunday

The Fourth Sunday of Easter is Good Shepherd Sunday. This year for the first time, we are celebrating our feast day on the weekend of April 20 and 21. This will be a time to celebrate who we are and all the exciting events and ministries happening here in our parish community.

After each Mass next weekend, members of our various ministries will be available in the hall to speak with you and answer any questions you may have. It is our hope that many of you will find something of interest in which you can become involved. Youngsters, teens, and adults are all encouraged to come and join us!

For more information or if you would like to help, please call Roger Poulin at 508-234-4724.
