On Saturday, February 14th parishioners began their Valentines Day celebrating and praying for those they’ve loved and lost during a Mass of Remembrance. The Mass included prayerful readings and celebratory music not to mourn for them but to rejoice in the impression they’ve left on our lives and in their resurrection. It also featured a special musical guest, esteemed singer and songwriter Ryan Tremblay. Red votive candles were lit in memory of each parishioner who returned home to God over the past year.
These names included:
Gerard Poulin Sr.
Marie Joyce Castonguay
Hermin Lavallee Jr.
James Cullen Jr.
We begin the holy season of Lent on Ash Wednesday, February 18. The schedule is as follows:
8:45 AM Mass Main Church
11:00 AM Liturgy of the Word Crown and Eagle
3:30 PM Liturgy of the Word Main Church
7:00 PM Mass Main Church
As Catholics, we follow these sacrificial practices during Lent: Abstinence from meat is to be observed by all those who are 14 years of age and older, on Ash Wednesday, all the Fridays in Lent, and on Good Friday. Fasting is to be observed on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday by all who are 18 years of age but not yet 59. Those who are bound to fast may take only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted to maintain strength according to individual needs, but eating solid food between meals is not permitted.
Each Friday night during Lent, we will pray the Stations of the Cross at 6:30 PM in the main church. Please join us.
