On Saturday, November 14th Good Shepherd will host its 3rd annual Holiday Fair from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in both the Parish Center (Behind the church) and Parish Hall (Beneath the church).
Taste the many flavors of Good Shepherd at the bake sale, cookie walk, and fudge sale. Stay for the luncheon and enjoy a selection of finger sandwiches, homemade soups, salads, desserts, and meatballs; with corned beef sandwiches also available for purchase. Or take parish recipes home with you through purchase of the parish cookbook.
See the many talents of its parishioners at the arts and crafts tables. Knitted and crocheted items, wood-carved ornaments, and a large selection of hand-crafted jewelry and rosary beads are all available for purchase, along with a variety of other crafts. And for the little one’s there will be a special Children’s Christmas Shopping area with gift wrapping, as well as children’s games in the Youth Center.
Finally, try your luck at the expansive raffle table, featuring over 70 themed baskets, along with additional specialty-themed raffle items and the always popular 50/50 raffle.
The K. of C. Mumford Council #365 will sponsor its annual All Saints Breakfast on Sunday, November 1 from 8 AM to 12 noon at the K. of C. Hall, 77 Prescott Rd. in Whitinsville. Included will be made-to-order omelets, French toast, sausage, eggs, home fries, and beans. The cost is $9 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $3 for children. Flyers at church entrances will entitle you to free raffle tickets!
The Good Shepherd Youth Ministry will host a 12-hour movie marathon from 7pm on November 20th to 7am November 21st.

The Blackstone Valley Crop Hunger Walk will take place on Saturday, October 17 at 9 AM. The 3-mile walk begins at the Trinity Episcopal Church on Linwood Ave. in Whitinsville and ends at the Uxbridge Town Common. The Community Hall is not available this year so the luncheon after the walk will be held at the Blackstone Valley United Methodist Church on Linwood Ave. in Whitinsville. Rides will be available from Uxbridge back to Whitinsville so that walkers can participate in the luncheon if they so choose. Registration begins at 8:30. Walkers are asked to bring all donations they have collected with them when they register. Pledge sheets are available at church entrances
Attention parents of college students: If your child would like to receive a care package of goodies from our parish to let them know their Good Shepherd family is thinking of them, please email their name and complete school mailing address to Bethanypomfret@yahoo.com. Parishioners: All donations must be received by October 18 so that the team can assemble the packages and mail them on October 19. Suggested items include microwave popcorn and soup, candy, pens, pencils, highlighters, post-it notes, small bags of chips/pretzels, etc., $5 Dunkin Donuts gift cards, toothpaste/toothbrushes, small boxes of tissues, a note from you wishing them well, prayer cards, and cash donations to help pay for postage. Donations may be left the basket in the front of the church.
A planning meeting for the Thanksgiving and Christmas outreach programs will be held on Wed. Oct. 7 at 6:30 PM in the St. John Paul II Room of the parish center. We could use a few extra pairs of hands. The time commitment is not too demanding…if you think you would like to help, please join us!
Good Shepherd Youth Ministry has been invited to join St. Augustine’s Youth Group on their trip to Screamfest at Canobie Lake Park on Saturday, October 17 from 11:30am to 11:30pm. The flyer is attached. I will be attending with our kids. Forms and payment are due back no later than Monday, October 5, 2015.
