Food Pantry and New Day Outreach “…I assure you, as often as you did it for one of my least brothers, you did it for me.” Matthew 26:40 On the last full weekend of each month, we have an opportunity to respond to Jesus’ call for us to help those in need. Next weekend, November 26 & 27, is our Food Pantry and New Day Outreach weekend.
This month our donations will go to the People First Food Pantry in Uxbridge Please purchase an extra item or two when you do your shopping this week and bring them to church next weekend. Just a note: Food pantries are not allowed to distribute any food items that have expired; they have to throw them away. Please check expiration dates carefully if you bring an item from your home!
Monies received in the Good Shepherd Church replica on the last weekend of each month are used to help individuals and families from our parish, and also to support various community causes. Your generosity each month enables us to continue to help those in need.
First Friday Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will be held on February 3rd from 9:15 AM—10:15 AM in the Mary Chapel.
Our Giving Tree Program begins the weekend of 11/27. Please take a tag from the trees and adopt a child whose request is on the tag and make that child’s Christmas wish come true. Only gifts for blue bells should be wrapped. All gifts must be returned no later than the weekend of Dec. 10 & 11. Individuals and agencies will pick up their gifts on Sunday, Dec. 11 and on Monday, Dec. 12. On December 3 & 4 please bring an unbreakable ornament from your house to place on the trees in God’s house. These ornaments will be part of our church decorations this year. On December 10 & 11 please bring your gifts with the tags attached and place them under the giving trees. Please remember to securely tie packages together if there is more than one item for your tag.
On the Giving Trees there will also be green tags for the seminarians in our diocese. If you take one of these tags, please purchase a gift card in any amount for Staples, CVS, WalMart, or Best Buy. Then please mail the gift card in the attached envelope directly to The Office for Vocations. The gift cards will be presented to these men on Christmas Eve.
Join the Good Shepherd Women’s Ministry for lunch and friendship on Saturday, December 3 at 12:00 noon to 2:00 PM. Soups and beverages will be provided. Please bring a side or dessert to share. Also, bring a wrapped ornament for our ornament swap. We will have a wonderful opportunity to get to know and support each other. The Women’s Ministry would love input from all as we plan a few events for 2017. All ladies above confirmation age are welcome!
