Good Shepherd Parochial School to Host First Class Reunion in 45 Years

Are you one of the 800 students to have graduated from Good Shepherd Parochial School in Linwood/Uxbridge? Are you interested in reuniting with classmates, or simply reliving childhood memories by walking the halls of your former school? If so, then it’s time to go back to school. Join us on Sunday, June 25th from 1:00-5:00 PM for our Reunion Open House.

The reunion will feature an exhibit on the history of the school and a trip down memory lane through a series of articles and class photos. Be there for the opening ceremony at 1:30, led by parish historian Roger Poulin, who will introduce any former teachers in attendance. Good Shepherd’s current pastor, Father Larry Esposito, will also be on hand to lead a talk. You’ll witness the school building’s transformation into the Good Shepherd Parish Center, where it continues to cultivate young minds through religious education and youth ministry programs.

The Good Shepherd Parochial School opened its doors on June 6, 1921, educated by the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary from St. Hyacinth, Quebec. The final class graduated in June 1972. The Reunion will be the first in 45 years since the school’s closing.

So whether you’re a graduate of the school, or simply interested in seeing the halls and classrooms where your loved ones grew up, we welcome you to celebrate its legacy and reunite with friends along the way.

Volunteers Needed for Reunion Sunday

Good Shepherd Parochial School Reunion Sunday, June 25 ~~ 1 PM

Many people have asked me how they can help. There are many ways to help for the reunion on June 25th .

First, I am looking for bakers to provide desserts for the refreshment table. If, like me, you don’t bake, cheese and crackers, chips and dips platters, or 2-liter bottles of soda would be great.

I will also need some hosts/hostesses at the refreshment tables and the history exhibit. We will need greeters and guides at the school, since many who will be back for the reunion have not been in the school for some time, and it has changed since it was closed in 1972.

If you would like to help, there are sign-up sheets on the tables in the front of the church and in the Mary Chapel. With your help, I know this will be an exciting and fun event for all those who attended our Parish School so long ago.

Thanks again for all you do for Good Shepherd Parish. Roger Poulin
